Established in 2003
Espion International, Inc. was established in 2003 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is one of the very early developers and implementers of artificial intelligence (A.I) based solutions for email gateway security and digital record security. The founders of Espion were originally involved in the business of network security auditing and consulting services. From their vast first-hand accumulated knowledge of customer requirements, the first A.I. based email security appliance product was prototyped.
The History - In 2003, Espion introduced the first commercially available A.I based email appliance for combating email security threats. The product was given the name Interceptor Model 500 which began the Espion Interceptor series of email gateway appliances. The Interceptor Model 500 was designed primarily to serve large enterprises with heavy mail flow issues. Early in 2004 the Interceptor Model 1000 was introduced and by late 2004, Espion introduced the Interceptor Model 250SMB, an appliance designed to be more affordable by the small and medium sized business (SBS) market while maintaining the same quality of service.
In 2005 Espion introduced a revolutionary new product which expanded the Interceptor’s capability to provide 1024-bit encryption of email sent from the existing corporate mail server, named Espion MX Lock™, the new product’s capability could be retro configured in existing customer owned Interceptor chassis thus extending the customer’s original investment. MX Lock was an immediate and continuing success due to its powerful security features and ease-of-use. MX Lock provides top-notch outbound email encryption and helps organizations meet various compliance requirements.
In 2007, the Interceptor i250R was born. The i250R was designed to lower the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for small businesses thereby allowing them to allocate limited monetary resources to other areas of their businesses.
