Unique Ability
The Interceptor provides the unique ability for each department at a company to manage the security of all email (including attachments) leaving their network. In the image below, each organizational unit (Engineering, Accounting and Sales Departments) has its own Interceptor equipped with MX Lock. Each of these Interceptors handles outbound email encryption for just the department in which it is located thus facilitating compartmentalization of data flow.
Contrarily, all inbound email for all departments of the organization is handled by a single Interceptor equipped with MX Lock. When a recipient, located outside the organization's network, accesses a secure/encrypted email, they are connecting to a departmental Interceptor (orange arrow below). When they reply back to the sender, they are still connected to a departmental Interceptor (orange arrow below). However, if a sender initates normal email communication with a recipient within your network (green arrow below), the email passes through MX Mercury.
